The Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education Programs (EFAK) carries out the necessary activities for the evaluation and accreditation of teacher education programs. The Council is referred to as “EFAK” in all the official documents and correspondences of EPDAD.

The functions, powers, and responsibilities of EFAK, which carries out all academic activities for the accreditation of teacher education programs, are as follows:

1. To prepare and implement a detailed schedule for granting accreditation on behalf of EPDAD to undergraduate and graduate programs recognized by the Council of Higher Education, and to decide on accreditation,
    
2. To build the program evaluation teams to be involved in program evaluation processes, and to determine the program evaluators, co-evaluators, team leaders, and co-leaders in these teams,
    
3. To determine the candidates for the position of program evaluator, and
    
4. To submit any amendments which it deems necessary regarding the current accreditation processes and the evaluation criteria to the Board of Directors.
